Embark on a 6-day Atlas trek Morocco and explore the stunning High Atlas mountains, where nature, culture, and adventure come together. This trek takes you through lush valleys, panoramic mountain ridges, authentic Berber villages, and colorful landscapes, especially vibrant from February to April. You will trek from the Ourika valley to Oukaimeden and finish in Imlil, the gateway to Mount Toubkal.
Throughout the journey, mules carry your main luggage, letting you hike with a light daypack. Along the way, you will meet local communities, discover Berber traditions, and experience the beauty of the Moroccan mountains. Each night is spent in cozy mountain gîtes, providing a welcoming and authentic atmosphere.
This 6-day Atlas trek Morocco is ideal for both nature lovers and trekking enthusiasts, offering a balanced mix of cultural immersion, moderate physical challenge, and breathtaking scenery.
Arrive at Marrakech airport and transfer to your hotel or riad in the Medina. Spend the day resting or exploring the city’s vibrant souks and Jemaa el-Fna square. Dinner at your leisure and overnight in Marrakech.
After breakfast, drive to the Ourika valley and begin the trek. Hike alongside muletiers, passing fields and orchards, and reach Timichi (2,089 m). Overnight in a local gîte.
Ascend to the Tizi N’Ouatar pass (3,223 m) with panoramic views. Descend toward Oukaimeden, Morocco’s highest ski resort (2,650 m). Overnight in a mountain gîte.
Climb to the Tizi N’Adi pass (2,960 m), overlooking the Imnane valley. Continue to Tacheddirt, one of Morocco’s highest inhabited villages. Overnight in a gîte.
Hike over Tizi N’Tamatert pass (2,279 m) with views of Mount Toubkal. Descend to Imlil village and explore its surroundings. Overnight in a gîte.
Walk to the Sidi Chamharouch sanctuary, a spiritual local site. Transfer back to Marrakech by vehicle, concluding the trek.
