Embark on a desert trek 7 days and explore the wild beauty of the Sahara. The adventure begins in M’Hamid, where you walk through palm groves and pass ancient kasbahs before entering the first dunes. After lunch under tamarisk trees, the trek continues to Erg Sidi Naji, home to a revered marabout. By evening, camp is set, and dinner around the fire introduces you to your first starry night in the desert.
On the second day, the journey leads across the Bousnina plateau toward Erg Zahar, also called the “Screaming Dunes.” You enjoy a desert lunch, then admire the golden sands at sunset before resting in a comfortable bivouac.
Day three moves toward the Drâa Valley, with a stop at a natural well for rest and lunch. The path continues to Erg Essmar, a mix of dunes and oases. Here, you share dinner and an evening under the stars.
The fourth day brings you across Erg Sedra to the immense dunes of Erg Chegaga, the largest in Morocco. Watching the sunset over this “sea of sand” is an unforgettable highlight before another night in a desert camp.
On day five, climb Abidlia dune for panoramic views. Then, continue walking toward Oued Laatach, where the evening unfolds around the fire and a sky filled with stars.
Day six takes you across the dried Iriki Lake toward Erg Aït Ounir, an isolated dune surrounded by tamaris. This final night in camp offers both tranquility and authentic desert atmosphere.
Finally, on day seven, you cross the Hamada du Drâa back to M’Hamid. A last lunch stop closes the journey. You can also extend with a night in the palm grove for a peaceful ending.
