The 4-Day Desert Tour from Marrakech is ideal for travelers seeking a compact, immersive Sahara adventure. This journey blends desert exploration, cultural experiences, and scenic drives.
Your adventure starts in Marrakech, crossing the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi-n-Tichka pass. Stop at the UNESCO site of Aït Ben Haddou and the kasbah of Tamdakhte for photos and cultural insight. Continue through Ouarzazate and the panoramic Drâa Valley to reach M’hamid, the desert gateway. Here, a comfortable bivouac awaits with traditional dinner and Saharan music around the campfire.
Day two offers a camel ride through the golden sands. Pause for lunch in shaded tamarisk trees before reaching Erg Chegaga in a 4×4. Enjoy sunset from the dunes and overnight in the heart of the desert for a truly magical experience.
The third day takes you through the wild desert track, crossing the dried Iriqui Lake and stopping in Taznakht, famous for Berber carpets. Arrive at Aït Ben Haddou for an overnight stay in a charming hotel.
On the final day, drive through Telouet and the Ounila Valley, exploring the kasbah of the Glaoui and picturesque Berber villages before returning to Marrakech. This itinerary combines adventure, culture, and relaxation, offering a complete Sahara experience in four days.
Depart Marrakech at 8:00 AM by 4x4, crossing Tizi-n-Tichka pass. Stop at Aït Ben Haddou and the kasbah of Tamdakhte. Lunch in Ouarzazate, then continue through Agdz and Zagora, with a scenic stop in the Drâa Valley. Visit Tamgroute’s library, kasbah, and pottery workshops. Arrive in M’hamid for dinner and overnight in a desert bivouac.
After breakfast, enjoy a half-day camel ride across desert sands. Pause under tamarisk trees for lunch. In the afternoon, drive by 4x4 to Erg Chegaga dunes. Admire the sunset, enjoy dinner around the campfire, and spend the night under the stars.
